Who operates Besot

Besot is operated by Pizza Robot Studios LLC, 3705 W Pico Blvd #B, Los Angeles, CA 90019, United States. Questions about this policy, and any request about your data, go to privacy@besot.com.

What we collect

When you ask us to hunt someone through the request form, we store the name you sent and your email address so we can tell you when that person goes live.

Besot has no accounts today, so there is nothing to sign into and no profile held about you. Pieces you obsess over are kept in your own browser, not by us. If accounts arrive, this policy will be updated before they do.

When you browse Besot, our analytics records the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and the referring site that brought you here. This data is aggregated and used to improve the site. It is not sold.

To be credited for purchases we refer, Besot works with affiliate networks. Today that is the eBay Partner Network, for eBay listings. These networks may set cookies so that a purchase you make after clicking a listing can be attributed back to Besot. They record that a referral happened and basic technical details, not who you are. We do not receive your name, payment information, or the specifics of what you bought. The resale platform you click through to may also set its own cookies at that point, under its own privacy policy. As we connect more platforms and networks, this policy will be updated with them.

How we use it

Your email is used to send the alerts and digests you opt into, and to reach you about your account. We do not sell your email address. We do not rent, trade, or share it with advertisers.

Aggregated usage data helps us decide which collaborations to prioritize, which features to build, and which editorial directions to take. No individual profile is surfaced to our team or to any partner.

Those same aggregate patterns, which pieces are searched for, which collections have the deepest demand, may be shared or licensed as market insight to brands and platforms. This is always aggregate. It never identifies you, your account, your email, or your individual activity.

What Besot never does

Besot does not sell your personal information, does not share your email address with sellers or platforms, and does not build advertising profiles. When you click out to a listing you are on that platform, under its own privacy policy.

Children

Besot is not built for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

We use 16 because it is the highest age of digital consent set anywhere Besot is available, and we apply it everywhere rather than varying by country. Some countries set 13, 14 or 15; holding to the strictest of them means this promise says the same thing wherever you are reading it.

If you believe a child has given us their information, email privacy@besot.com and we will delete it. We do not require proof and we will not ask you to justify the request.

Cookies and what is stored on your device

Besot does not set a login cookie today, because there is no account to log into yet. Your obsessions and saved pieces are kept in your own browser's local storage. They stay on your device, they are never sent to us, and clearing your browser data clears them.

Our analytics is first-party and does not follow you to other sites. We set one cookie of our own, bs_sid, a random identifier with no name or email attached, so we can count a visit or a click once rather than many times; it lasts a year and you can clear it with your browser data. When you click a listing we also set a short-lived token that expires in ninety seconds, which only tells us the click came from a person rather than a bot.

Affiliate networks may set cookies through our site so a later purchase can be credited to us. They identify a referral, not you personally.

The resale platform you click through to may also set its own affiliate cookies, not Besot. These typically persist for 30 days and allow Besot to be credited for purchases you make during that window.

You can disable cookies in your browser. Doing so will not prevent you from browsing or reading Besot.

Data retention

Request-form data, the name you sent and your email, is kept until the person goes live and we have told you, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Email privacy@besot.com and we will erase it within 30 days.

When accounts exist, account data will be kept for as long as the account is active and deletable on request. This policy will be updated before that happens.

Where your data is processed

Besot is operated from the United States and the providers we use process data there. Hosting, storage, and the database holding request-form entries are Cloudflare. Our mailboxes are Google Workspace, and the notification raised by a request form is delivered through Resend.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, that means your information is transferred outside your region. We rely on the standard contractual clauses those providers offer for such transfers.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@besot.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. Those rights are honored regardless of where you live.

A photograph is a different kind of request and has a faster route: image removal takes one email, requires no proof, and is actioned the same day.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top always reflects the last change. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will say so on the page rather than only changing the date.
